QAide test step recorder.

QAide Test Step Recorder provides a way for you to trace your steps on websites. This tool will allow you to retrace your steps and if you work with a development team you can provide them with the JSON file making it easier to know what exactly happened.

We do not store any data, the steps are stored in your browser and you can detail any of the steps you wish. This is to ensure your data is secure between you and your browser.

Journey:

When you have been on a website and clicked around, maybe filled in some forms you can open the extension to see what's being recorded.

To see the dashboard you have to open the Pop Up and if you have steps available you can click the Vew All Step Details link in the top-right.

Once the dashboard is displayed you will see more details around the steps you've taken divided by the domain and you can collapse/expand the domain sections to make it easier to read.
For each step you can copy the JSON to your clipboard or in the top-right corner you can export all steps to a JSON file if you want to use the data elsewhere.

This really helps, especially when making test cases for a custom automobile manufacturers audit software application online.

I've only just started playing with it, but this extension looks very useful for when you have non-QAEs doing any testing of your apps. A seasoned QAE knows how to write test steps, but when regular folks are asked to help test, there's a learning curve that often leads to poorly documented bugs. This could help get around that, since it logs everything for you. Even a seasoned QAE could use this thing, to be honest. I gave it four instead of five stars because like to see other ways to export the data, as well as seeing things on the dashboard like what was typed into a field: The exported json shows what I typed in a textarea, but it would be cool to see it in the dash also. It would be great to see an export option that lists the steps numerically, so it could be copy/pasted right into a bug ticket.
