This extension provides direct access to XLinux, a terminal emulator with an online Linux that is compliant with all the modern web browsers.

It provides a Linux online virtual machine with the following features:

- Linux free.
- Linux boot in seconds.
- Web based Linux virtual machine.
- Linux virtual machine without having to download anything.
- Linux client requiring no installation.
- Common network configuration with access to the Internet so that you can run commands like ping, sftp, telnet, ... and establish different communications with external servers.

seems ok, if you trust them.

so it is a shell/terminal in a data centre in the US, and there is no keylogger or other such (security concerning) stuff under the covers ?

I had no problems using domain names, and having the IP address resolved by DNS. It's a lot better than no unix CLI at all.
