* This extension works by pausing all audio and video elements
* Includes support for common music services (GrooveShark, Pandora, SoundCloud, and many more)
* Works excellently with YouTube videos and HTML5 media
* Plug-in objects can not be paused; they are inaccessible). Instead, such objects are temporarily removed, and can be individually restored with a single click.

I was looking for an extension that explicitly pauses all videos, not just mutes tabs. This extension does just that, so thank you. You should probably change the name though :)

It's a PAUSE extention. Doesn't MUTE in any way.

1. Extension didn't mute!!! It's stop video (mute audio and stop video - different things, so it's liar extension name ).
2. It can't mute/autostop new pages - only opened previously

There is a newer feature out for chrome that works better imo chrome://flags/#enable-tab-audio-muting
