Probably the best so far, but I see some issues...
When using it on Japanese manga, it has trouble distinguishing certain characters from one another...
For example: ぁ(a) and あ (a)
This is not too much of an issue, because they have the same pronunciation, but it can sometimes affect how a sentence is read...
It's a much bigger problem when it can't distinguish っ(tsu) from つ (tsu) because the former is silent and changes the pronunciation of the character that follows it... ex: つぱ = tsupa, っぱ = ppa...
Sometimes it also mistakes ぱ(pa) for は(ha) or ば(ba) which have different pronunciations and change what the word or sentence means...
the same for し(shi) and じ(ji)
The "ten-ten" (") marks make a difference and sometimes the app misses them...
These are problems I find with all OCR devices, so it's not a particular problem with yours, but I want to leave an honest and complete review...
Something that your app does better than any other app I've seen is reading vertical Japanese text...
But it does it backwards... This is still somehow better than other similar programs...
- Other apps read the first character of each line from left to right, then the second, and so on...
This app reads each line completely (top to bottom), but reads the lines from left to right...
Japanese vertical text is read top to bottom, right to left...
Vertical text I captured using this app:
サイコーたわ 広々と使えて 人少ないから 深夜の銭湯は = "It's a great late-night bathhouse because it's spacious and not too many people are there."
Should be read like this:
深夜の銭湯は 人少ないから 広々と使えて サイコーたわ = "Late-night bathhouses are spacious because there are fewer people, so it's great."
But it's better than other apps, which read it like this:
サ広人深 イ々少夜 コとなの 1使い銭 だえか湯 わてらは = "Sa Hirojin no shinin ai ko to na no 1 usages sen daeka yu watare wa"
So it's still much better at reading vertical text than any other app I've used, but addressing these small problems would force me to change my rating to 5 stars...

It actually works! It of course depends on the image and font used, but the wait for the usual Arial font with a visibility of 8-10 font size is not that long (actually quite fast).
